We're recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join an established original equipment manufacturer in Meadville, PA.

This is an excellent opportunity to take technical ownership of complex, custom-engineered industrial machinery projects, covering the full project lifecycle from initial concept and mechanical design through manufacturing, testing, installation and commissioning.

Applicants should have experience within industrial machinery, capital equipment or engineered-to-order equipment manufacturing. Strong recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience may also be considered.

What You'll Do

• Support the mechanical design of custom industrial machinery and thermal-processing equipment
• Review customer specifications and technical project requirements
• Create and modify 3D models, layouts, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
• Prepare bills of materials and supporting engineering documentation
• Design mechanical components, structural frames, equipment supports, piping, cooling-water systems and loading mechanisms
• Complete engineering calculations with support from senior engineers
• Assist with material selection and the specification of purchased components
• Check drawings for dimensions, tolerances, fit and manufacturability
• Update designs based on engineering reviews, customer feedback and manufacturing requirement
• Work closely with welders, machinists, fabricators and assembly technicians during equipment builds
• Coordinate with electrical and controls engineers during equipment integration
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain technical information and component specifications
• Assist with structural, thermal and flow analysis using SolidWorks Simulation or similar software
• Participate in design reviews, equipment inspections and factory acceptance testing
• Troubleshoot mechanical, manufacturing and equipment-performance issues
• Support equipment installation, startup and commissioning at customer facilities
• Prepare equipment manuals, test records and drawing revisions
• Take increased ownership of equipment subsystems and smaller projects as experience develops

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred
• 2-5 years of mechanical design, project engineering or equipment manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong recent graduates with relevant internship, co-op or machinery-design experience may also be considered
• Experience with industrial machinery, capital equipment or engineered-to-order systems
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software
• Ability to create accurate manufacturing and assembly drawings
• Understanding of mechanical design, materials, tolerances, machining, welding and fabrication
• Exposure to piping, pumps, valves, cooling systems, structural design or thermal-processing equipment is beneficial
• Familiarity with DraftSight, AutoCAD, FEA, CFD or SolidWorks Simulation is advantageous
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working directly with manufacturing and shop-floor personnel
• Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and develop into a well-rounded project engineer
• Ability to travel overnight several times per year for installation, commissioning and service support
